STARBURST
This very beautiful globular cluster is shown rising in the sky over a planet somewhere deep in space. Imagine looking up in the sky each night and seeing this sight. It certainly gives a whole new meaning to the words "starry, starry night" or "It's full of stars.".

NATURE'S GARDEN
This piece was inspired by an old country church we saw on our travels in southern Ontario. The night sky was particularly beautiful and the phrase "we are all star stuff" seemed to fit the cycle of life from beginnings to endings. Perhaps it will give you the same feeling of hope it gave to me.

I ON JUPITER
Inspired by the Voyager flyby photos, I created a piece showing what I think would be necessary to exist on a moon of this giant. The buildings would have to be able to withstand enormous pressure for Man to exist there at all.

VEIL OF NIGHT
One of my favourite remnants of a long ago explosion in deep space is the Veil Nebula. I have always wondered how much of these remnants would show in the sky above a nearby planet. Would the nebulosity be as distinct or would it be visible at all at that close a range?

CAPTAIN'S DILEMMA
This piece was inspired by my two loves in life, Astronomy and Star Trek. The Captain's problem was the dilemma I have always faced. Which do I love more - the Enterprise ship or the Stars. This is one of a series of paintings using the ancient symbols for the constellations together with accurate Astronomy and Star Trek symbolism.

BEYOND ANTARES
This very beautiful region of space, known as Rho Ophiuchus and Scorpius, is shown rising in the sky over a planet in orbit around the red giant Antares. The Messier object, M4, and emission, reflection and dark nebulous clouds are all visible. The colours of this area of space have intrigued me since the very first time I saw it depicted in Astronomy Magazine.

WORLD IN NEBULA GLOW
All the current hype in Astronomical circles is about the discovery of planets around stars close enough for us to get readings both from radio and observational telescopes. Thanks to the Hubble Telescope we have gained a vision of our Universe that we could only dream about before. This piece is my contribution to the speculations.

Research Work and Recent Exhibits are included in the navigation frame so do check them out.
